Our studio
Handmade Islamic art, made slowly in Kolkata.
Qadri Market is a small studio working in resin, gold leaf and hand lettering. Every frame, Quran box and rehel is poured, cured and finished by hand — one piece at a time, never in batches.
The beginning
A studio built around one idea: quiet, well-made things.
We started with a single request — a Kalma frame for a family home that did not look like a factory product. The calligraphy was set by hand, the resin poured in one go, and the gold leaf applied after the piece had cured. It took three attempts to get right.
That is still how we work. No printed vinyl, no moulded plastic, no shortcuts. If a pour traps a bubble in the wrong place, the piece is redone. It makes our output small, and it is the reason every order leaves the studio a little different from the last.
We work only with calligraphy, geometry and architecture — never with figures or living beings — so the work sits comfortably in a home, a study or a gift box.

Allah, Kalma, Ayat al-Kursi and Masha’Allah pieces in resin and gold leaf. Four sizes, from a small shelf frame to a full wall piece.

Lined boxes and folding rehels, finished to match — for the Quran Shareef kept at home and for gifting.

Ayat al-Kursi hangings and dashboard stands, light enough to hang safely and finished to survive Indian summers.

Amama and Shami caps, wall clocks and table stands — the smaller things that finish a room.
How a piece is made
Four weeks, four hands, one piece.
Nothing here is ordered from a catalogue. The process is slow on purpose, and it is the part we enjoy most.
- Design The calligraphy is set and proofed. The frame proportions are drawn to the size you order — 1×2 ft up to 3×6 ft.
- Pour Resin is mixed, coloured and poured by hand. Gold leaf and crystals are placed while the surface is still open.
- Cure Each piece rests for several days until it is fully hard. Edges are sanded, sealed and inspected under daylight.
- Pack The finished piece is wrapped in foam, corner-guarded and boxed for the courier, with a care card inside.
